Requirements
The Vice President of Leadership Forums & Strategic Engagement will oversee the Chamber’s high-visibility leadership, policy, and engagement portfolio. This role manages three core areas:
Inside Executive Minds and Business Titans of Minnesota leadership programs
Office of Economic Development & Forum Affairs
Office of Public Engagements
The Vice President will design and execute executive-level forums, foster meaningful dialogue between business and government leaders, and advance the Chamber’s public-facing engagement strategy. This position requires strong strategic thinking, exceptional coordination skills, and the ability to represent the Chamber in high-level settings.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Programs
Oversee the planning, execution, and growth of Inside Executive Minds and Business Titans of Minnesota.
Develop annual programming themes, speaker lineups, and strategic priorities.
Manage outreach to executives, industry leaders, and partner organizations.
Track program outcomes and provide regular updates to Chamber leadership.
Economic Development & Forum Affairs
Lead all Chamber-hosted business forums, legislative conversations, and economic development roundtables.
Coordinate with lawmakers, policy staff, and regional partners to facilitate constructive dialogue on economic issues impacting Minnesota businesses.
Develop agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up action items for each forum.
Public Engagements
Represent the Chamber at public, civic, and community events as needed.
Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, industry associations, and community partners.
Support the President in external relations, including stakeholder meetings and statewide engagement initiatives.
Ensure Chamber messaging and materials reflect professionalism and consistency across all engagements.
Strategic Operations & Administration
Maintain organized records of events, programs, and external engagement activities.
Prepare regular summaries and activity reports for Chamber leadership.
Collaborate across committees to coordinate logistics, budgets, communications, and member outreach for programs under this portfolio.
Recommend improvements for program effectiveness, workflow efficiency, and strategic reach.
Requirements
Experience in program management, strategic engagement, public affairs, or related fields (nonprofit or chamber experience preferred).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort engaging senior executives and public officials.
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Demonstrated experience building partnerships or coordinating stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, committees, and Chamber leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
