This month's edition of Inside Executive Minds features a rare and powerful conversation with Brigadier General Joseph J. Sharkey, Commanding General of the 34th "Red Bull" Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard.
In this role, General Sharkey leads one of the largest and most historic divisions in the Army National Guard. Based in Arden Hills, the 34th Infantry Division provides command and oversight for more than 23,000 soldiers across Minnesota and twenty three other states. In practical terms, he is responsible for the training, readiness, and leadership of tens of thousands of soldiers, a division whose legacy stretches back to both World Wars and continues through combat deployments and homeland missions today.
